Message I am looking at purchasing a new z. It has a forged motor with about 6k miles on it. The car is about 600 miles away from me so the seller agreed to do a compression test on it before I flew over to inspect and pay for the car. Here is what he emailed me back.

"Not sure what is going on here; I took the compression readings as you can see in the pics. The driver's side was substantially higher (1 170Lbs, 2 170lbs, 3 168lbs) the passenger side was lower all were reading 155lbs. I am running NGK BKR5EIX-11 plugs gapped to .035". However, the plugs on the passenger side looked cleaner; the driver's side looked a little carboned up, not bad, but not as clean as the passenger side. Of big note was the connectors to the coil packs on the passenger side were not very good. I pushed on a couple of them (#1 and #2) and the engine smoothed out. I will drive in the morning to work; I zipped tied the connectors to the coil packs and seems like it is running really smooth. I will let you know tomorrow how it drives. I warmed up the car prior to taking the readings; started with the driver's side, open the throttle bodies as noted by the screw driver. Didn't know how to shut off the fuel, wasn't sure if that washed the readings a bit on the passenger side, I thought the computer would pick up that the car wasn't running and shut down. Really can't believe that Z-Sport would have not said something about the injectors or the dyno readings, they seem like they really are good with these cars; probably like me was impressed with the numbers.

Was something not done right? I find it funny that both banks so almost identical compression, but overall the one side is significantly lower. The car is exactly what I'm looking for, and the price is right, but I don't want to purchase something that is going to be a problem child.
